We purchased Holly Hill in the fall of 2021 as a vacation home and to be near our adult children who had relocated to the area. It was already a short term rental when we bought it fully furnished and equipped. We rented it when we were not using it ourselves, and managed it remotely (Northern Virginia), thanks to an outstanding cleaner and supportive neighbors. We are not an investor with multiple rentals and a management company – this is our only rental and our beloved oasis where we have made many happy family memories.

We are recently retired (Randy – 2025; Cindy – 2026) and now live full time on the lake. We do our own cleaning, maintenance, and repairs. We live about 15 minutes away and enjoy interacting with our guests if you have any needs or questions, but we will not intrude on your vacation.

Do not lock manual lock on kitchen door handle or you will be locked out! (there is a back up key if that happens.)

Please give the door an extra tug when you lock it. If the smart lock flashes red, give it another try.

Garbage: Bag garbage and place in bins in carport. Place loose recycling in bin in carport.

Bed linens: strip all beds that were used and leave sheets in the bedroom. Or just pull back the bedding and leave on the bed.

Towels: leave all used towels on the bathroom floor.

Kitchen: please start the dishwasher before you leave. Do not leave any food behind. Remove all food from the refrigerator.

Thermostat: Turn the thermostat to 55 degrees before you leave during heating season. Turn the thermostat to 85 degrees before you leave during cooling season.
